i'm managing to keep up with the running. so far i haven't missed a day of the c25k program yet. i am currently on week 5, day 2, which involves a 5 minute warm-up, followed by a 8 minute run, a 5 minute walk, and another 8 minute run. i'm floored at how non-scary it is. i'm also floored that i'm doing it, and looking forward to it. i've found myself really enjoying running, which i never thought possible. it's a distinct possibility that i will continue running even after i completed this program.
i've also found a potential 5k to enter. every tuesday there is a brooks waterfront 5k. since it occurs every tuesday, i don't think it'll be too formal or intimidating. also, it's along the waterfront, which should provide some excellent scenery.
also, isn't it neat when you discover or learn something new, and then all of a sudden you see that thing everywhere. it's the same with running. wellington, it turns out, is covered with runners. i love running past them and sharing a smile. it's incredibly corny, i know.
